Previously, the Coordinator of TRUTH's Advocacy and Investigation Division, Jupry Nugroho said, in Government Regulation Number 17 of 2010 it was explicitly explained that the Education Council functioned in improving the quality of education services, by giving consideration, direction and support for personnel, facilities and infrastructure, and education supervision in national, provincial and district / city level.
It is also expressly stated that the Education Council carries out its functions independently and professionally, in the sense that it cannot be influenced and intervened by other parties, including by the elements of the educational bureaucracy. However, just the opposite. The Tangsel City Education Council ‘diem-diem bae’ faced this problem.
"We question where the Education Council has entered its second year in office," he said.
According to him, the chaotic PPDB 2018 in Tangsel should be utilized by the Tangsel Education Council to provide recommendations to the mayor regarding complaints, suggestions, criticisms and aspirations of the community towards the implementation of PPDB, as well as education issues in general.
